Or you can contact us by email or phone. When scheduling your consultation, we have a few questions so we can be prepared to make the most of our time on the phone together. During that call, we will let you know how we work, your options to book your vacation with Drinkwater Travel and collect any additional information needed. We guide you through the entire planning process. That's it!

What services does a travel agent offer?

-- Drinkwater Travel agents provide information and assist you by making travel arrangements for your vacation, destination wedding or honeymoon. A travel agent will coordinate a traveler's flight, resort reservation, transfers to and from the resort, and excursions / tours. We are also traveling this journey with you from start of the first conversation to after you return home! We are there every step of the way.

Will the Internet replace the need for travel agents? What are the benefits to using a travel agent compared to the Internet?

-- Today technology is a great thing however, it cannot take the place of our personal service and attention to detail. We offer guidance, expertise, face to face service (even when we don't live in the same state) via zoom calls. We are here for you! We can be reached via email, phone, Facebook, Instagram, chat from our website and we will be here when you need us most..... when something goes wrong. If something goes wrong, a missed connection, an emergency at home, we are a phone call away, even if it is 4:00 AM, we have your back! An online company isn't with you once the sale is made.

We attend continuous training, participate in seminars, become destination specialists, and join associations to stay on top of the industry to ensure we make your experience as pleasant, personalized, convenient, and memorable as possible.

No matter what the travel crises is, the Internet can’t replace me!

Will I pay more for a vacation if I book through Drinkwater Travel versus an online booking site?

-- NO, we have the same pricing for the resort accommodations as the online booking sites, we can also price-match if you are comparing sites and find a difference. We need to be certain we are comparing apples to apples.

Can you work with a certain budget?

-- Yes, we work with all budgets. We will be honest and transparent with the resort recommendations we suggest.

Do I need travel insurance?

-- Travel insurance is HIGHLY recommended for all trips. Travel insurance protects your travel investment. Most travel insurance has during travel coverage, such as emergency medical services, illnesses, lost luggage, missed connections, trip interruption and trip cancellation. Drinkwater Travel have access to various travel insurance providers, so you’ll have several great choices to choose from. Compare the policy limits and coverages before deciding which to purchase.

What kind of documentation do I need to travel?

-- A passport is required if you are traveling outside of the US. Many countries do not allow entry if your passport expires within six months of traveling. Yes, I know that sounds crazy because your passport is not expired, but it is the country that you are entering, and we must abide by their rules. We will discuss this when you book, and you check your expiration dates.

FAQ's after you book your trip

Do I need a passport?

Yes - if you are flying out of the country. There are no exceptions!!!!

I recommend that you take a picture of your passport with your phone incase you need it, you have it readily available.  Or at the very least, bring a copy of your passport with you and put it in a safe place.  Also leave a copy at home with someone who can get it to you if needed.

Your passport has an expiration date, if your passport expires within 6 months of your travel dates you can be denied entry in many countries.  Don’t take a chance if your passport is expiring within 6 months, it’s not worth it;  Simply renew your passport!

No - if you are cruising you can board with your drivers license and certified birth certificate if you leave and return to the same cruise port.

If the cruise does not leave and return to the same port, you will need a passport.

We recommend that you always travel with a passport wherever you go because if you have an emergency you will not be allowed to fly home without a passport.   Be prepared because we never know what is going to happen.

Should I take my debit or credit cards on vacation?

LEAVE your debit card at home!!!!  You do not want to deal with fraudulent charges on your debit card in a foreign county.  It’s bad enough if you have to deal with it in the States, but internationally will be unbelievably time consuming.

Yes, bring a credit card.  You never know what you might decide to buy, you may not use it but you have it with you in case you do.

NOTE: Call your credit card company to advise them of the dates and places you are traveling to. Your card may not work unless this is noted on your account.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, Yes, Yes. Our lives are so busy, we just never know what is going to happen.   Be sure the  travel insurance you purchase covers flights, trip interruption, lost luggage, cancellation, theft, and medical coverage.  Some plans have emergency evacuation coverage.  Check the hurricane coverage.  If you get sick or injured while on vacation and need medical attention, you want to have medical coverage so you don’t have to pay out of pocket or put charges on your credit card.  Many health insurance policy’s that we have through our employment does not cover internationally and if it does you have to pay for the costs and be reimbursed when you file a claim once you get home.

How much cash should I bring?

I recommend $250.00 - $500.00 in cash in case of an emergency or if I want to purchase items from the vendors that come to the resorts. Make sure you put your cash in a few different places. I’ve read places to hid your cash, here are a few:

  • in your makeup bag,

  • in a safe

  • under shoe inserts

  • in dirty socks

  • in bag with dirty clothes.

Can I use my cell phone internationally?

Contact your cell phone provider. Each carrier and plan have different rules and coverage.

An example, with my plan I pay $10.00 additional per day for unlimited voice and data when using my phone internationally.  A friend of mine has another carrier and they have worldwide unlimited data and calling.  These are examples of why you need to call your carrier to find out what your plan covers internationally and if you don’t have coverage find out what the cost would be prior to travel.

If you don’t have international coverage and don’t want to pay additional fees, you should put your phone in airplane mode and when you get to the resort turn on WiFi.    You can access social media and emails through the resorts WiFi.   You can also FaceTime or call through Facebook while on WiFi.

What is the cost of checked bags?

Each airline is different.  Check the airline website to check for cost, baggage size and weight limitations.   They are very strict on weight limitation, if your bag is overweight there is a substantial overweight fee.

What can I take in my carry on?

The liquids that you bring in your carry-on must be 3.4 ounces or less (shampoo, conditioner, perfume, hair gel, hair spray, etc.).   Your liquids MUST be in a quart size ziplock bag.

Make sure all your medications are in your carry-on, be sure they are in the original medicine bottle with prescription label.

The 3-1-1 Rule for liquids is:

The 3-1-1 Rule refers to three core components that govern how many liquids you can bring in your carry-on bags: Each liquid must be in a 3.4-ounce or less container ("3"), all containers must be placed inside one clear quart-sized plastic bag ("1"), and each passenger is only allowed one plastic bag ("1").Jun 26, 2019. This is subject to chance so always check the airline website or the TSA website.

Keep your flight and resort information, your passports and an ink pen in your carry-on.  You will need these three items when you are on your flight to your international destination to fill out the immigration forms.  Make certain that you sign your forms as they can make you get out of  line if it is unsigned.

Bring the following in your carry-on in case you can’t sleep on the plane or are delayed:

  • a book,

  • magazine,

  • cell phone,

  • iPad, chargers, etc

You can not have anything that could be considered weapon, including a small pocketknife, lighters, metal fingernail file, etc.
